This is the most amazing thing: scientists have reported that seismic activity has slowed down since humans began sheltering in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus. WHAT? Mother Earth has stopped her constant upheaval since people started staying home?
As reported by GreekReporter.com, “The various lockdowns across the world have reduced the planet’s characteristic “seismic footprint,” a phenomenon that is already noticeable in Greece, based on data recorded by the United National Seismological Network. The original research was carried out by Greek Professor Efthymios Sokos of the Seismology Laboratory of the Department of Geology of the University of Patras, Dr. Christos Evangelidis, lead researcher at the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, and seismologist Dr. Dimitrios Giannopoulos.”
How about that? Of course, this requires that we pay attention to what Nature continues to demonstrate: when people stop, our environment clears, the animals, birds and bugs roam freely, and Mother Earth quiets down. Apparently as the humans retreat, seismic noise has dropped dramatically. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Makes you think maybe the issue with the environment is humans, doesn’t it? Seriously. What were we doing to cause seismic noise? Drilling, fracking, polluting…
It seems a bit fantastic that the tectonic plates’ shifting would slow down just because people stopped abusing the earth. But there it is.
I think the more people remain indoors, the more we refrain from abusing the environment, the more we are likely to learn of more fantastic, amazing signs of the earth healing. Now, if we can just get humans to stop the nonsensical abusing of one another. Wouldn’t that be amazing?
Imagine: the long-lasting effects of the coronavirus would be the repair of our environment and healing of human relationships.
