Life In The Era of Social Distancing

Day #19 of Social Distancing – Gratitude and Giving = Abundance

Day #19, April 3, Friday. Things I heard this morning that absolutely resonate with me:

“Giving prepares us to receive.”
“Gratitude says, ‘I have received.'”
Giving of ourselves, and giving thanks for what we do have, and what we wish to have as if we already have it, sets us up for abundance.
Interestingly, I also learned about the law of paradoxical intent: focusing, even positively, on what we want generates the energy of lack, which in turn repels abundance. WHAT THE WHAT??? So, in order to receive, you must give thanks, and give of yourself and DON’T THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT. Know it, ask the Universe for it, and then LET IT GO.
How many of us are just not good at letting go?
The other thing I am hearing more and more as we live through this time of global disruption: take good care of yourself – physically, emotionally and mentally – and not just because it will help you remain healthy, but it will help you to care for others. Ties right back to the gratitude and giving concept: if you are not practicing self-care, you cannot properly give or give thanks.

Lots of good learnings today.

Also did the third Friday evening happy hour tonight. It is so much fun to see old (and new) friends on screen and laugh with each other for an hour. For me, it keeps me visually connected with people that I would normally not see. So wonderful.

What unexpectedly pleasant thing has happened to you as a result of this crisis? How many old friends have checked in on you lately?
