Some days, I have nothing to say. No comments to make, or no comments that I want to put a lot of energy into. Today is one of those days. I even wore sweats today – the first time on a work day that I have not worn real pants since we began staying home. It is also the first time in a long time that I simply wasn’t motivated to do anything. Seriously.
I read some really upsetting things early in the day – the federal government seizing medical supplies that was procured and paid for by hospitals and the state governments – but I can’t today. Every day is a new crime against humanity, new depths of depravity, new heartaches and horrors. The general stupidity of people exhausts me.
Most probably, I’m tired of the news cycle; I am tired of pretending that I am at all interested in getting anything done. I am tired of trying to figure out how to maintain normalcy. I am tired of trying to keep a brave face. I am tired of waiting for this plague to peter out. I am tired of seeing people who don’t care about anyone else but themselves put us all at risk.
Don’t get me wrong – I am blessed and grateful that we have a safe home and we are all healthy. I’m thrilled that I will be starting a new job in another week. I’m thankful for having first-world problems. We are in so much better shape than many.
I’m just tired. I’ll have more to say tomorrow, I am sure.
