What is actually happening is the executive branch forces are inciting violence with the expectation that the protesters will respond in kind. They have snatched protesters off the streets in unmarked vehicles and held them without cause, illegally, and tear-gassed the Wall of Moms, also peacefully protecting the peaceful protesters.
This is one of the more desperate plays for Cheeto Satan to delay his incarceration: create dissent, create unrest, declare martial law and indefinitely delay the presidential election. Install as many blockades to voter turnout as possible (delaying delivery of first class mail; having administration-friendly states shut down polling places – the primaries were the dry run) and when that doesn’t seem to deter the populace, fabricate politicized unrest across the country, in cities that are primarily made up of black and brown people – that the raging pandemic has not yet decimated to oblivion.
I have said before, the lack of a coordinated national response to the pandemic is not by accident. More than 140,000 Americans have died; many of them, people of color. The elderly, the disabled, the poor – all people that the Republican party deem a drain on society – the first to be felled by the virus. This is a calculated move by a germaphobe president to distract, deflect and delay the vote for his removal. When the opposition continually strengthens with every misstep by the current administration, the criminals in the WH and DOJ have to come up with another course of action. They’re also trying to exclude undocumented people from the census in order to re-draw congressional districts – undoubtedly to favor their so-called party.
If you did not think fascism could take hold in America, think again. These are dangerous, disturbing times, brought about by a malignant, sadistic, racist narcissist and his merry band of very bright, but dangerous and nefarious enablers – each with their own personal agenda to enable a whiter, richer, pro-“Christian,” hetero-male-dominated society. We are being held here, thanks to the lack of a coordinated pandemic response, against our will, with daily abuses and assaults to civil liberties and basic human rights. Our own government, armed and turned against us because we recognize our mistake in allowing an evil, criminal, malevolent enterprise to strip us all of our illusions of compassion and belief in our greatness; that laid bare all of our racism and misogyny that we buried behind the veneer of respectability.
All 45 cares about is not going to jail for his crimes against women, minorities and our very democracy. His enablers are terrified that they, too, will go to jail – not just for aiding and abetting, but for taking part in the same criminal activities. This is why they stand down when he and his Christofascist cabinet disassemble the Constitution they took an oath to protect.
If you are not afraid of the next step toward martial law, and think me an alarmist, I’m afraid you are not paying attention.
