Tuesday marked the end of Mercury in retrograde – you know, the period when all things mechanical want to fail, communications are messed up, everything is on delay, and plans made are laid to waste – so you would think things would ease up just a bit.
Nope. The effects of this retrograde are still doing their wonky things.
I suppose I expected that once the planet begins moving in its appropriate direction, all the delays would finally begin to move in a positive direction. That roadblocks would miraculously disappear.
I must really need a lesson in patience, because there are several things stuck in my craw that are simply not inclined to move. I knew that the planets were not in my favor between September 27 and Tuesday, so I cooled my jets. I was not happy about delays but I understood that forcing any issues would likely give me a bad result. But the last couple of days, spurred on by the arrival of cool weather, I have been raring to go. There’s a document I have been waiting on for a good week and a half that is still not prepared – annoying. There is a collaboration that is decidedly one-sided that remains that way – frustrating. In both instances, I cut everyone slack even when I was reminding them that I needed this stuff attended to. With deadlines. Allowed for other people’s schedules and priorities, because, well, that’s what polite people do.
Well. Not yesterday.
Basically decided if we didn’t get an answer from collaborators, not gonna worry about it and move on without them. Told the folks preparing documents that they have until the end of the week, no more. Did it without my signature “if possible” or “so appreciate your help” to soften the tone. Nope, not gonna happen. Listen, I wasn’t rude. I wasn’t disrespectful. Just to-the-point-get-it-done.
Sometimes, when you make allowances for other people, they believe that they have been given carte blanche to continue to take advantage of your polite or accommodating nature.
Yeah, Mercury has gone direct, but there seems to still be a lag in the forward motion and it is pissing me off.
So if you owe me something, you’re on notice, I am not going to be as forgiving as I might have been a week or so ago.
Oh, and it is an Aries full moon tonight. Let go of the things holding you back tonight. It appears that I have already let go of being accommodating. Ha!
